Provost Lauds Workers’ Performances
Workers in Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, have been commended for diligence in the discharge of their duties in the institution.
The commendation was given by the Provost of the College, Dr. Samuel Akintunde, in his remark at the October 2019 edition of the College-organized monthly prayer meeting, which held on Wednesday, October 3, 2019 in the College.
While thanking God for keeping everybody alive to witness the new month, the College Administrator lauded staff for their contributions and charged them to continue to dedicate themselves to the advancement of the institution.
The Provost, while making clarifications at the event on issues pertaining to payment of peculiar allowance, productivity allowance, as well 2016 Promotion arrears, dropped hint of plan by the institution's Governing Council to address the matter in due course.
As he reiterated his administration's commitment to workers’ welfare, Dr. Akintunde said his administration would not relent in promoting their well-being and providing facilities that would enhance their efficiency.
He lauded members of the College Prayer Team for standing in the gap for the College as he prayed that God should bless staff of the College and bring prosperity to them in the new month.
Earlier in his sermon, which centred on the need to praise God always, the Dean, Student Affairs, Mr. Olukayode Akinola, admonished staff of the College to move closer to God.
According to him,“When praises are given to God, He will bring victory and success."
While quoting from Psalm 149 v 1-9 to buttress his points, Akinola stated that there is power in praising God saying " When we thank God, we are positioning ourselves to enjoy victory.
He said: "If you want to have breakthrough, learn to give praise to God. When you praise God, you are inviting God to come into your situation."
The preacher stressed the need for workers in the College to live righteously in the month of October, stating that the decision would enable them enjoy heavenly blessings in their places of work.
Also while leading the prayer session, a senior member of the College prayer team, Pastor Johnson Oluremi Falade underscored the importance of praises. He thereafter led the congregation in praying for College management, staff and students of the institution as well as Nigeria nation.
The climax of the event was the recognition and offering prayer for people born in the month of October who attended the prayer meeting.
The event, which held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium, featured song renditions, Bible exhortation and prayer.
It was attended by Principal Officers of the College including the Deputy Provost, Dr. Gbade Ikuejube; Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede; College Librarian, Mr Azino Akpokurerie.
Also present were deans and directors, heads of departments and units including Head, Directorate Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi, staff and students among others.
