ACE Rotary Celebrates President End of Tenure with Interschool Competition

The Rotary club of Ondo(Adeyemi College of Education chapter) has celebrated the end of the tenure of its President, Rot. Dr. Kehinde Adenegan in grand style with an Inter-school competition titled ADEMMAK ARITHMETIC GAME COMPETITION. The game was invented by the outgoing President and he has, in conjunction with his club and Pacesetters Empowerment Initiative decided to use the medium as a means of giving back to the educational system. He did this in commemoration of his 40th birthday. 

Fifty secondary schools within the state were given the opportunity to register and compete in the game and it was keenly competed by the schools in attendance. Some of the schools include; Owo High School, Owo; Bagbe High School Bagbe; Success International College, Ondo; Progress College, Ondo; Unique College,  Ondo; St. Joseph's College, Ondo and St. James' Secondary school, Ondo.

Others are St. Ambrose's Catholic Grammar School, Ondo;La Salle College,  Ondo; Independence Grammar School, Ondo; Life Veneration School, Ondo; Diocesan Comprehensive College, Ondo among others. 

In what seemed to be fun, the game was competed in a high spirit of sportsmanship and in the serene environment of the School of Science Complex board room in the College. St. Ambrose's Catholic grammar school won the competition, while Independence Grammar school and St. Louis Girls Grammar school came 2nd and 3rd respectively and went home with consolation prizes that were also given to contestants from 1st to 10th positions. Other contestants also received souvenirs for their participation in the competition. The competition will henceforth hold annually.

The maiden edition of ADEMMAK Arithmetic Game competition was powered by the Pacesetter Empowerment Initiative and Rotary club with financial support from then  celebrant,  Dr. Adenegan. Meanwhile, gift items were generously donated by Ben-Mighty Global Company Ondo, Divine Connections Communication Ondo,  Blessed Austin Electrical Electronics Ondo and Emmaphine  Mobile store. 

The special guest of honor at the event, the Dean, School of Science, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Dr. Peter Akinbile advised the students and contestants to thread the successful path of the game developer, Dr. Adenegan, a first class graduate in Mathematics, who has distinguished himself in his field of endeavour. He further stressed that there is a great reward for the students if they are committed to their studies as the sky will be their beginning. 

The ceremony was ended with ceremonious photograph session and light refreshments.
