OVERVIEW

In 1993, the Management team of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo led by Late Prof. Babatunde Ipaye decided to establish a staff secondary school with burning desire to have a first class citadel of learning that would be affordable and available for children/ward of both the elite and the masses. Approval for its establishment was granted by the Ondo State Ministry of Education on 28th October, 1993 and commissioned on 17th January 1994 with the motto “Education for Service”. Demonstration Secondary School took off with a total number of 227 students who were admitted into JSS 1 and SS1 with seven (7) full time teachers, part-time teachers were later employed to augment the effort of the full time teachers.

The first and founding Principal, Mr Akindutire J.B., worked hard to give the school a good footing. He headed the school between 1994 – 1997 when he handed the baton over to other visionary leaders who held the helm of affairs of the school and had immensely contributed their quota to the development of the old and present students of this citadel of learning and to the progress of the school.

Mr. E.O. Owasoyo, the incumbent Principal, has built tremendously on what his predecessors had done. The school is living up to its founding fathers’ dream of promoting academic excellence, a conducive learning environment and moral discipline of her students. From January 2007 till date Adeyemi College of Education Demonstration Secondary School has witnessed an unprecedented development . Our God given Provost, Prof. Adeyemi Ibukunoluwa Idowu and his management team have written their names in the sands of time. From a well packaged students and teachers welfare, to the well designed structures, . Demonstration Secondary School story has been rewritten.

The College Governing council at its meeting of 25th and 26th August constituted a nine-member Management Board under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Provost who shall see to the day to day Management of the school and shall be responsible to the Provost. The Board was inaugurated by the Provost on 28th September, 2009. The Old Students Association of the School was inaugurated on 13th April, 2013 while the 20th Anniversary was celebrated between 27th January and 2nd February, 2014. Suffice is to say that Adeyemi College of Education Demonstration Secondary School has risen to greater heights, becoming a mighty oak and a mould that has turned out great professionals who are leaders in their own chosen careers across the nation and the world in general.
