Provost Tells Alumni to Contribute to College as Association Celebrates Founder’s Day
The Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Dr. Samuel Akintunde has called on members of the home branch of the Alumni Association to show a greater level of commitment and plough back into the system to contribute their own quota as a way of cherishing the privileges of being fed by the source that produced them.
Dr Akintunde, who was represented by the College Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, stated this on Saturday, 22 May, 2021 when the Alumni Association celebrated its 57th Founder’s Day to mark the 22 May, 1964 formal commencement of the institution.
In his address, the Provost expressed appreciation to God for the progress and advancement that the College has witnessed through the years.
Akintunde noted that the institution has produced proven men and women of timber and caliber within and outside the shores of the nation, as he prayed for current management, staff, students and the College to attain greater heights.
Earlier, the association’s National Public Relations Officer, Dr. Yemi Olugbamigbe praised the Management of the College and the institution for winning Awards of Excellence and Best College of Education in Nigeria, South Western part of Nigeria and beyond the shores of the nation.
The event, which began with offering of prayers for the entire College community, ended with a candle light procession to the terrace where the bust of the Reverend Moses Craig Akinpelumi Adeyemi is located at the old Administrative Building in the institution.
The event was graced by the Acting Director of Alumni Relations, Mr. Charles Adeniranye; Expanded National Executive Committee member of the association and Assistant Deputy Registrar, Mrs. Adebimpe Olabode; officers of the home branch – Mr. Olatubosun Ajisafe, Mrs. Abiodun Ogunmosin, Mrs. Olusola Olagundoye – and other members of staff of the ACE Chapter; guest minister, Pastor Tongnan Daze; members of the Ondo State Chapter of the association; present and past presidents of the Students’ Union Government.
