ADEYEMI COLLEGE CHAIRMAN, BABALOLA PLEDGES TO RESTORE STATUS, VISITS AKEREDOLU,OSEMAWE, ONDO CP
Adeyemi College Chairman, Babalola pledges to restore status, visits Akeredolu,Osemawe, Ondo CP
The newly-appointed Governing Council Chairman of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo, Hon. (Ms) Oluyemisi Idia Babalola, has paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) in his office at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The ACE Council chair, accompanied by other members, also visited the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bolaji Salami, at the Ondo State Police Command headquarters off Igbatoro Road, Akure.
The new Council comprises three government appointees, Alhaji Garba Abdullahi Bichi, Mr. Ben Chuka Eche and Prof. Dayo Faduyile; representative of the Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Chinyere Ugwuja; representative of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Mr. Lawrence Babatunde Aremu; representative of University of affiliation, Prof. Mrs. Bonke Adepeju Omoteso.
Others are representative of Alumni Association, Aragbiji of Iragbiji, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi; two representatives of the College’s Academic Board, Dr. Olufemi Abayomi Olajuyigbe and Dr. Felix Emoruwa; Provost, Dr. Samuel Akintunde and; Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. Olufisayo Olukemi Fakorede.
Speaking while receiving the visitors, Akeredolu thanked them for the visit and gave assurance of his readiness to support management of the College in its efforts at fast-tracking the development of the institution.
The Governor charged Babalola to do everything possible in ensuring the actualization of the university status of the College during her tenure.
Responding, the Council chair commended the governor for all the achievements recorded by his administration since he took over the affairs of the state.
Noting the importance of synergy and good partnership in developmental process, the Chairman, appealed for support from the governor especially in the quest at achieving the goal of getting the College upgraded to a university.
In her remarks at the police headquarters, the former commissioner for federal matters in Osun State thanked the state police commissioner for all the assistance rendered to the institution.
She said her purpose of visiting the command was to show appreciation and introduce herself and other Council members to the police commissioner, as they begin their work in the College.
Underscoring the importance of security in society, Babalola appealed for more support from the police for the institution in its drives to achieve its vision and mission.
The CP expressed appreciation to the ACE Council for the visit and gave assurance of continued support for the institution.
Similarly,the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo (Jilo III) reiterated his support for the elevation of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo to a University of education,while receiving the College Governing Board.
The royal father expressed delight on the composition of members of the Governing Council with the hope that the institution would attain greater heights with the calibre of personalities on it.
Oba Kiladejo urged members of the Council to do everything humanly possible to see that the upgrade of the College to a university becomes a reality during their tenure, saying the achievement would enable them have their names written in gold “when the history of Ondo Kingdom is to be documented.”
