Directorate of Linkages, Sponsored Research and Development
Preliminaries
The DLSR&D is divided into two Units, all under one Director and an assistant. The Director coordinates the Affairs of the Directorate and he is responsible to the Provost for the day to day running of the DLSR&D.
The two Units of the Directorate are as listed below:
- Linkages and Academic Collaboration Unit; and
- Capacity Building Unit
Linkages and Academic Collaboration Office
Linkages and Academic Collaboration Office is the umbrella unit under the Director himself. It performs the following functions that borders on External Partnership as it oversees and coordinates the affairs of the other unit:
- Collaborate with the External Partners of the College to promote linkages/partnerships between ACE and Academic and Non-Academic Institutions/Bodies across the world;
- Initiate and execute MOUs and Agreements between Adeyemi College and other Institutions/Bodies;
- Promote town-gown initiatives.
- Promote Academic linkages/partnerships between Adeyemi College of Education and other Institutions; and
- Administer exchange/visiting programmes for staff and students.
Capacity Building Unit
- Organize capacity building workshops to cover areas such as proposal writing, research methodology and publishing; and
- Disseminate information on Conferences and Funding opportunities for fellowships study leaves, postgraduate studies, amongst other.
The Specific Objectives and Functions of the New Directorate of Linkages and Sponsored Research (DLSR&D)
The Directorate of Linkages, Sponsored Research and Development (DLSR&D) is the Coordinating Office for all College Research. (Its duties are clearly different from that of the College Research Committee.) In that capacity, the DLSR&D shall promote the culture and ethics of research in the College. It harmonizes and coordinates all research activities and responsible to the College Management through the College Provost. The functions of DLSR&D include the following:
- Development and implementing research strategies for the College;
- Sourcing for grants to aid research development in the College;
- Providing technical support in proposal writing to staff;
- Promoting research collaboration and partnership;
- Providing pre- and post-research award management;
- Ensuring the legal protection and commercialization of Intellectual Property;
- Translating research results in the College to innovations;
- Ensuring adequate provision and administration of research funds;
- Formulating, implementing and regularly reviewing the College Research Policy;
- Archiving research data and disseminating research findings;
- Conducting ethical reviews of research proposals & ensuring compliance with internationally acceptable standards; and
- Coordinating a formal mentoring culture in the College
